Yes. I am currently licensed in the State of Massachusetts which has one of the most rigorous teacher licensing processes in the country and 46 out of the 50 U.S. states have reciprocity with the Massachusetts license. I hold a Masters in education as well as a license and Masters in reading instruction.
I have been teaching for 20 years in all. I started by teaching my own three children. After earning my masters degree in both education as well as reading instruction, I spent 10 years in my own classroom in Ludlow Mass. teaching 1st grade. I have been teaching reading remotely for over 4 years now.
I am an experienced teacher with a lot of success working with students who have a hard time learning in a regular classroom. I take the time to understand each student’s learning style and try to align my lessons and teaching to match the interests and passions of each student. I believe that keeping students engaged, excited, and having fun is important to keeping their interest and investment level high. I am a certified teacher and reading specialist, not a large company or organization.
My tutoring services come with a competitive price tag, ensuring the best instruction for your money. With my 15+ years of experience and expertise as a former 1st-grade classroom teacher and a certified Reading Specialist, I can help close the reading gap in a very short time. In my experience with 1-1 instruction, I have helped students close their reading gap by a whole grade level in as little as 2 months of working with them.
The first few years of learning to read build the foundation that will dictate each student’s future academic success. K-3rd grade reading instruction is the most important time to close reading gaps or they will not be properly prepared for academic learning later on.
I want to help your child enjoy learning to read. I can promise you better results than an impersonal learning center or online curriculum sites that do not provide the direct 1-1 attention your child needs. I will take the time to get to know what they are passionate about and teach them to read, utilizing their preferred learning style. If you are ready to invest in your child’s education I am here to help.
