One of my favorite parts of teaching is working with parents and families to help them feel comfortable leading their child’s education.

I decided to support families that simply want guidance in creating a learning environment that works for their children and is sustainable, creative, engaging, and fun. It does not have to be stressful or complicated to make this happen. During our coaching sessions, we will discuss what motivates your child to learn, what learning style they possess, how to engage their creative brain, and how to use all of the fantastic tools available for learning at home using online support platforms instead of textbooks.

Coaching sessions can be as simple as meeting once or twice or be regular check-ins throughout the year. I can also help assess where your child is regularly to give you feedback on how they are doing according to their grade level.

Opting for regular coaching sessions also gives your child access to all the remote learning platforms in my classroom.

  • I had Mr. Bertsch when I was in first grade.  He always kept the class environment creative and uplifting.  He often did things to make learning fun for all students and always kept our attention.  One of my favorite memories of his classroom was that he had a puppet named Mr. Einstein that told us stories. His teaching approach let our knowledge grow while still enjoying what we were doing.  For instance, he incorporated science song videos to help us learn and even now, going into my junior year in high school, I can still remember them. Overall Mr. Bertsch created a positive environment where mistakes were often lessons and not frowned upon or negatively looked upon as some other teachers would. I felt it was a comfortable, safe environment to be myself and as creative as I wanted to be.
